About Us

UF Health Shands nurses are represented at work by the Florida Nurses Association and Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 713.  We fight to protect nurses on the job, and we work to improve wages, benefits and working conditions for UF Health Shands Nurses.

UF Health Shands nurses are protected by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that establishes hours, wages, work rules, employment benefits, disciplinary procedures and more.

The OPEIU Free College Benefit is Here: 

Following are the start dates for the 2020 academic year.  Students can enroll up to the start date of classes.
Free College upcoming 2020 start dates
Spring 2 start: March 16
Summer start: June 1
Fall 1: August 17
Fall 2: October 12​

​OPEIU is pleased to introduce the newest union benefit for all OPEIU members – the OPEIU Free College Benefit. Just as the name implies, OPEIU members and their families can now earn an associate degree completely free of charge.
